COMPENDIUM OF HUMANITY'S END
Marco Chung is the oldest human in the known universe.
Displaced in time by his job ferrying people and supplies to the extrasolar colonies around the galaxy, Marco finds no semblance of peace or belonging upon his rare returns to an ever-changing Earth. Meanwhile, despite centuries of exploration and settlement, everywhere that humans have looked there have been no signs of past or present life. Whether it is nearby Mars or far away Novissimus, it appears more and more likely that Earth is unique, at least within the Milky Way.
Despite these setbacks, colonization of the stars has become the pop culture of the day. Due to this, Marco has found himself a celebrity in his own right, even though he never sought it out. All he has witnessed is that on these so-called "Earth-like" planets, nature seems to be constantly trying to wipe every living thing off of their surfaces. After partaking in so many journeys to the outer reaches and having a hand in helping to create the occupations of these exoplanets, Marco is starting to wonder: if we are truly alone in the cold emptiness of space, then is life simply a mistake?

During World War II, Hitler managed to set up an underground lair that the Nazis populated with "perfect" people. As the war turned, the secret society was forgotten about and everyone who knew about them was killed. Nearly a century later, they are discovered by accident. As archaeologist, psychologists, historians, and others are exposed to the lost nation, they are impressed with how peaceful the Nazi descendants are and how well their society runs. The Nazis do not know much about the war and do not carry a hatred of other people. They just know they are the chosen ones destined to be the best.

Elsewhere, a similar device goes off at a box store in a rural town, another on a plane going from one small regional airport to another, another yet at a Keno plaza. Dozens of these devices go off, all at the same time, at unusual and low-quality soft targets all over the country. Some places have a few thousands inside, others no one at all. Only one FBI analysist saw it coming, but even he did not have all of the pieces and gets caught up in the release of one of the devices. But now that the damage has been done, can the perpetrator or perpetrators be found and stopped? And even if they are, have they already won?

If he is the only person who can save the world, and the only way to save the world it to take it over, would it not be incumbent upon him to do just that no matter the consequences?

The President’s tale unfolds from the perspective of the outside media, with all its various viewpoints and agendas. Each has its own story to tell for any-and-all reasons.
